Summer Time....

I can’t believe how fast summer is passing by. I often wonder why the winter months drag on and summer seems so short.

I love everything about summer. I like to walk outside and not worry if I have shoes on or not. I like to wake up to the neighbors lawn mower and children playing and laughing in their yards. The thing I love most about summer is getting to spend an unlimited amount of time with Tate. I enjoy our conversations and hearing about his dreams for the future.

This past weekend we celebrated the Fourth of July with family and friends.

Friday we went up the Shannon’s in Idaho. Tate loves playing with his cousins, even when there is a little drama. He was the only boy among four girls and they were playing Cops and Robbers and I guess, being a “robber” was the thing to be. They seemed to have figured it out because a little while later they were “playing house” which, I guess, was Tate’s idea.. Funny how kids can find resolutions so quickly and move on.
Later that night, we went up by the hospital to watch the Fireworks with the Stotts. A few of us walked over to CVO where the Shumans were celebrating with a company Bryan does business with. Tate had a wonderful time playing on the bounce toys, eating a snow cone, and playing with his cousins. We got back to the Stott’s just in time for the fireworks. I was too busy taking pictures with Bry to really enjoy what was going on in the sky. I did get a couple of shots on my phone to upload on FaceBook…

Saturday we went down to Roy’s parents where we had hot dogs, salads, and fun conversation. I love Roy’s family and Tate adores his cousins. We left just in time to see the fireworks from the different cities as we drove past them on the Freeway. It was fun to see all the bursts of sparkling light from Salt Lake to Ogden. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.
